Artists Association of Nantucket
One Day Weave Along: An Introductory Weaving Workshop, 18+
Saturday, 10am–2pm
September 6
This hands-on workshop is perfect for beginners who want to explore the timeless craft of weaving. Participants will build their own mini loom and learn foundational weaving techniques, including how to create texture and patterns. By the end of the workshop, attendees will have a handwoven textile piece they can transform into a pillow or wall hanging art piece—a functional and creative keepsake.

Create On Repeat: Designing Seamless Patterns, 18+
Tuesday–Thursday, 10am–2pm
September 9–11
This workshop introduces participants to the art of creating repeat pattern designs.
Attendees will learn foundational principles of surface design and block printing by creating their own seamless pattern. Participants will then transfer and carve the pattern into a linoleum block, then print the pattern on either paper or fabric to create their own dishtowel or gift wrap. The workshop is tailored for beginners and intermediate designers who wish to enhance their skillset in surface pattern design.

DRAW 341 | Travel Portfolio
In this course, students developed studies of urban contexts, structures, architectural and sculptural elements, interiors, period furniture, and worked from historical drawings. A personal focus within the breadth of the portfolio established primary motifs, processes, and materials. The portfolio was accompanied by related writings and collected materials. Inventive approaches were encouraged.
FASH 219 | Introduction to Fashion Sketching
This course introduced fashion sketching techniques to communicate the ideas, concepts and details of garments by visually interpreting fashion apparel, including the body proportions and garment fit used in basic fashion sketching.
